Coinbase Strengthens Its Position in Europe as MiCA Enters a New Phase

Europe’s crypto market has entered a new phase after the MiCA transition period ended on July 1, 2026. The end of the transition marks a major shift toward a unified regulatory framework for crypto-asset service providers across the EU. (ForkLog)
 

Coinbase had already prepared for the change. In June 2025, the company received MiCA authorization from Luxembourg’s financial regulator, the CSSF. The authorization allows Coinbase to provide crypto-asset services across all 27 EU member states through a single European structure. (Coinbase)
 

With the transition period now over, platforms that have obtained the necessary authorization are in a stronger position to operate under the EU’s unified regulatory framework. The shift also marks a gradual move away from fragmented national regimes toward common rules for crypto businesses across Europe.
